Cancellation Policy

No one ever wants to cancel a holiday. But we know that sometimes, even the best laid plans go awry.

Here is what happens in the event of cancellation. In any case, we'll be very sorry not to see you.

Cancellation by you (The Guests):

Cancellation must be communicated to us in writing, by email or letter (a text message is not acceptable). It will take effect from the time we receive it.

In all cases where you have paid a £100 Security Deposit, we will return this in full.

The following Cancellation Terms will apply to your Rental Fee:

If you cancel within 4 weeks of your arrival: No refund
If you cancel 4 - 8 weeks before your arrival: 50% refund
If you cancel 8+ weeks before your arrival: 80% refund [ie, we retain your initial 20% deposit]

However, if you cancel 8 weeks or more before your arrival, and at the same time, you firmly re-book your holiday to begin within 6 months of your original booking, there is no charge. We will simply transfer your 20% deposit to the new dates. This offer can be used one time; your re-scheduled stay must be at least the same duration as your original booking (ie, the same number of nights); and it is subject to availability. Otherwise, in all other circumstances, the Cancellation Terms will apply.

We will refund any monies due to you within 10 working days of your cancellation date.

We strongly advise Guests to arrange travel insurance to cover cancellation.  This is usually a nominal cost but it provides enormous peace of mind. It's well worth checking with your bank or other membership benefits — you may already have it.

Cancellation by us (The Owners):

It is extremely unlikely that we will have to alter your booking. However, occasionally, circumstances may arise which are simply beyond our control, or make The Maltings unfit for rental.

We reserve the right to make changes at any time, and we will notify you immediately if this is necessary. If we are forced to cancel your holiday rental for any reason, we will refund all monies you have paid to us within 5 working days.

Whether the booking is cancelled by you or by us, we are not liable for any consequential loss or incidental expenditure resulting from the cancellation of your holiday.
